Young, passionate, and LOUD AS FUCK, InMemory captures the essence of all that is rock music. Their debut album “In So Many Words” is a rich blend of evocative moods from the likes of Brand New, the dance-happy rhythms of Hot Hot Heat and all the while brandishing the intensity of The Used. InMemory conveys what life and music are all about… in so many words.

Enough Fanzine (Germany) - December 6, 2005

Surprise of the month!

I got aware of this band by their song “Accents Are Overrated”, which is a really catchy and diverse hit, so I was more than excited to hear how the other songs by InMemory sound. Judging form the pictures on the CD, I guess the band is quite young, so I wasn´t surprise to read lyrics mostly dealing with boy- girl relations. The sound of InMemory perfectly matches to the lyrics, as they´re exactly playing the sound of the “youth of today”. This means emotional and catchy stuff in the vein of bands like Thursday or Taking Back Sunday. I was really surprised to like this CD as much as I do, as I normally aren´t into this kind of music that much. But I wouldn´t do InMemory justice to label them as a clone or rip-off , as all of the songs are diverse and loaded with lots of ideas, to make them outstanding. “Accents Are Overrated” even reminds me of bands like Oliver Twist or Monochrome with it´s catchy yet frantic approach. Great band! So if you´re into the
bands mentioned above, be sure to get this CD!

Stutter-stop emo kids In Memory have actualized the formula of At the Drive-In dumbed-down for the Thursday nation. With passion and angst their sole ingredients, they fail to realize any original moments that Finch, Brand New and dozens of others haven’t mined in the last year (if not months). Their tight rhythms and nimble guitar lines work their damnedest to charm any listener, but the vocals do more for the over-all product than anything (especially carrying lines like “I’m not satisfied with being anonymous anymore”). Scatty moments and breathy chirps show more pop attention than most of their contemporaries. The band shows potential to carry the torch if the screamo-emo-whatever flame isn’t extinguished by boredom and a lack of creativity genre-wide.

InMemory "In So Many Words" CD
Alright, so generally speaking, I'm really not into what's going on this so called "pop-punk" genre, but on their debut full-length, titled "In So Many Words," Simi Valley California's InMemory has impressively created their own sound in this otherwise inane scene. With Jeff O'Rourke behind the board, these guys put together a well crafted album of twelve songs that sounds clean, hard and extremely energetic, giving nods to such bands as Hot Hot Heat and Story of the Year, but most importantly, without trying. Even though this CD didn't come fully packaged, the sample of the cover art on the one sheet looks pretty damn cool. Very Dali-esque, which I like, so kudos on that. All in all I'd say that both DoughMain Records and In Memory have a real winner on their hands so keep an eye out for this one. (Doughmain > PO Box 1489 > Thousand Oaks, CA > 91358) Shawn Gardner

InMemory is a five piece band that was formed in 2001. This emocore band released their first EP that only contained 3 songs but the quality of the songs was just great. "If Shadows Wrote Diaries" was just an amazing song and I played it on my stereos for a long time. After that I almost forgot how good InMemory is. Taking influences from bands like The Used, InMemory´s sound is just astonishing and talented. After the release of the 2003 EP the band played shows and promoted their EP with the result that they got signed to DoughMain Records. That was the opportunity to the band to get big and they hit the studio to begin recording their first full-length "In So Many Words" release in the beginning of 2004.

In "In So Many Words" InMemory show how they manage to put more than 3 tracks to an album and the result of this is impressive. "In So Many Words" continues the same sound they created in their EP and I consider "Accidents Are Overrated" as the best song on the album. This 12 song album is a tight and powerful package from a band that changes from emo to hardcore in an instance. They have also included one of their old songs "Characters" on the album to mix up the concept. This song was definitely worth adding because their EP wasn´t that wellknown and the track is awesome. With this album InMemory will get more time in media and their name will be included in many shows. Only minus that I found in this album is that somehow it isn´t as hard as their EP was.

InMemory´s new album will be released through DoughMain Records in 28th September and it will blast a lot of stereos with it´s beautiful lyrics, talented guitars and awesome screams. I recommend this CD to all the people enjoy emocore and especially to the fans of The Used. This album is worth purchasing!
